HNBA-Community Physicians College partner for healthy cause

HNB Assurance (HNBA) and the College of Community Physicians of Sri Lanka joined hands by entering into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in order to launch and promote a number of health and wellbeing programmes under the concept of ‘Healthy Lifestyle from Birth to Retirement’.
This agreement was signed by HNBA Acting CEO Niranjan Manickam and College of Community Physicians of Sri Lanka Secretary Dr. Shamini Prathapan in the presence of College of Community Physicians of Sri Lanka Vice President Dr. Hemantha Herath, Chief Operating Officer Life Division Prasantha Fernando, Chief Business Officer Life Division Ivan Nicholas and Head of Marketing HNBA Dinesh Yogaratnam, recently at the HNBA head office.


Expressing his views, Manickam stated, “We are delighted to be associated with the College of Community Physicians of Sri Lanka. This MoU is a significant milestone in the efforts of HNBA in uplifting the lives of the public of various communities across the country. Through this partnership we hope to touch lives of people across our nation and strongly aim to educate the public on the importance of living a healthy lifestyle as we believe that the foundation for a healthy and a happy life is laid by the individuals themselves and this is where protection really begins.” 


Commenting on this partnership, Dr. Prathapan stated, “Through this MoU we aim to educate the public on a number of areas such as, quality childhood, healthy lifestyles, prevention of non-communicable diseases such as cancers, hypertension and the epidemic of diabetes mellitus.” 
Sharing his thoughts Dr. Herath said, “This is the first time a partnership of such nature was formed and the College of Community Physicians of Sri Lanka is grateful to HNBA for its efforts taken to form this partnership.”


The main purpose of this MoU is to carry out a number of programmes in order to educate the public on a number of health and wellbeing issues faced by various communities. Through this MoU, various health and wellbeing campaigns and symposiums will be launched and carried out islandwide in order to showcase the importance of living a healthy lifestyle.
