Minister of Power and Energy Ranjith Siyambalapitiya today rejected the resignation letter of Ceylon Electricity Board Chairman Anura Wijepala.
Mr. Wijepala yesterday decided to resign from his post, claiming that he would take responsibility for the three blackouts that occurred in the country during the last six months.

Correct decision. The Chairman should remain as he came forward to take responsibility but the Minister should resign due to his inactions on the ongoing un-announced power cuts.

This what happens when people enjoy too much freedom. Sri Lanka not ready and do not understand when you see these comments. The Minister is a fine gentleman with not a single reason to blame for his period with MR. The CEB Chairman is also another fine official.
