The One Google Loon balloon which entered into Sri Lankan airspace on Monday is reported to have fallen to the ground at Gampola, Pupuressa last night.
Police said the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) had informed the police to provide security to the balloon which was taken to the Pupuressa police post.
However, Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructure Minister Harin Fernando posted a tweet saying “flight control of safely landing the balloon under standard operating procedures was successfully carried this evening”

This was a controlled landing according to testing plan. So no failure and all negative comments are totally unwarranted.

This is a case of cheating the public with false information. In the alternative the authorities do not know the difference between "landing" and "falling".

Landed or crashed ??? after seeing the pics it can easily injure someone.....the last thing I want is a head injury by a balloon.....

Dear Google,Several Balloons can fall and will continue to say flight control of safely landing the balloon under standard operating procedures was successfully carried this evening. After all this is SriLanka and the Cost of Balloon should not be debited to our account. We appreciate and looking forward for a better Service.
