A foreign tourist, who attempted to photograph a wild elephant which frequented the Habarana Devala Kade on the Polonnaruwa- Habarana main road this morning, was attacked by the animal.
The injured tourist was admitted to the Polonnaruwa General Hospital.
A hospital spokesman said the tourist’s left lower limb was injured but that he was out of danger. (K.G. Karunaratne)
