Only for about max. Mahinda will be the leader, later once he gains some support, Weerawansa will topple him and take over the leadership.

This is welcome news. A new party is the need of the hour. It should have a prominent place for the minorities also.

The key to success is the organizing at the grass root level and keeping the local media well informed.

This will be the end of the road for the SLFP and others too. The new party should take all the communities into confidence.

Does this mean that all MPs joining the new party will have to seek re-election as they were elected under the old party"s name.

Technically, if they leave the party they were elected on, they lose their seats, and the party can nominate other members to replace them!

This is the END of SLFP. Hon Mahinda Rajapaksha will have at least 45% of Votes . SLFP as a party will have 20% and the Balance 35% will be with UPS. Local council election will prove the power of MR and his new party as he will win all the areas that are not dominated by Minorities. UNP will pay the price for being so PASSIVE.
